Server SIM practice accounts

Server SIM is a practice account. Your orders are simulated and the prices come from your own connected Rithmic market data. You set the starting balance and the rules, and you can start a new practice run any time.

Connect Server SIM

  1. Connect a Rithmic connection first. See Connect Rithmic.
  2. Open Connections and find the Server SIM row, labelled Personal practice account.
  3. Click Connect.

Until a Rithmic connection is live, the row says Needs Rithmic connection and Connect is off. Its tooltip reads Connect a Rithmic connection first to use Server SIM.

Once connected, pick the Server SIM account in the account list of a chart or DOM, like any other account. Trading must be enabled, otherwise orders are refused with Enable trading before using Server SIM. See Trading lock.

What is simulated

Server execution uses your own connected Rithmic market data. Fills, depth sweeps, brackets and commissions come from the SIM engine. Commissions use Leeloo's published rates, per contract, per side.

  • Server SIM trades live contracts. It can't trade replay data. For that, use Market Replay and its Replay 01 and Replay 02 accounts.
  • Server SIM and Firm SIM accounts are separate from Market Replay accounts.

Practice settings

Click the gear icon on the Server SIM row (Server SIM practice settings). It only works while Server SIM is connected.

Account

SettingWhat it does

Maximum open + reserved contractsThe cap on open contracts plus reserved contracts.

Drawdown and daily loss

SettingWhat it does
Drawdown methodStatic: the equity floor stays at the starting balance minus the drawdown amount. End-of-day trailing: the floor only rises from the highest finalized closing balance at 5 p.m. Eastern. Intraday trailing: the floor follows the highest equity reached, including open profit.
Drawdown amount · USDThe distance from the starting balance or trailing reference to the equity floor. Touching the floor breaches the rule.
Stop trailing at starting balance + offsetTrailing methods only. Stops the floor from rising past the starting balance plus the offset.
Trailing stop offset · USDOffset 0 stops the floor at the starting balance. 100 stops it 100 higher.
Daily loss limit · optionalDisabled or Enabled. When enabled, Daily loss amount · USD sets the limit. It counts realized and unrealized P&L, including commissions.

The dialog shows a worked example for the method you choose. A breach cancels working SIM orders. Resetting the daily window doesn't clear a recorded breach.

Daily schedule

  • Auto-flatten starts at 4:59 p.m. Eastern.
  • The day closes at 5 p.m.
  • Daily figures reset at 5:55 p.m.
  • Trading resumes at 6 p.m.

Save rules or start a new run

  • Save rules keeps your current losses and trailing history. It only works while you're flat with no working orders, and only if the starting balance is unchanged.
  • Reset practice run discards active SIM positions and orders, restores the capital and clears practice breaches. It also applies a new starting balance.

After a reset, the previous run stays archived. Open Previous practice runs in the dialog to see each run's end time, closing balance and number of fills.

Simulated Trading (SIM-01 and SIM-02)

If your Connections window shows a Simulated Trading row instead of Server SIM, you have two simulated accounts, SIM-01 and SIM-02. Connect the row, then click its gear icon (Simulated trading settings). Set a Starting balance and click Reset accounts. The balance applies to both accounts, and a reset clears simulated orders, positions, fills and P&L. You have to connect Simulated Trading before you can reset it.
